More disclaimers
We have several WRT54G's successfully running the IPv6-enabled
firmware, and have encountered no problems that make us wish we
hadn't replaced the firmware for purposes of adding IPv6 routing
capabilities.
However, we'll issue the standard disclaimer that while we have had
no instances of damaging a router beyond repair, we cannot guarantee
that you won't. While we believe that damaging the router in the
process of replacing the stock firmware with the IPv6-enabled
firmware is highly unlikely, we must advise that if you cannot
live with the remote prospect of ruining the router, you should
not proceed with the IPv6-enabled firmware replacement.
You install the IPv6-enabled firmware at your own risk.
If something goes wrong during the firmware replacement process,
for example, the electricity to the router goes out, the router will
very likely be left in an unusable state. It is possible, although
we do not guarantee it, to recover from this state to a state
running stock Linksys firmware. Here's
how.
Getting started!
That said, here are the
instructions for installing the IPv6-enabled firmware.
Uninstallation
If at any time you wish to uninstall the IPv6-enabled firmware
on a router currently running that firmware and return to a stock
Linksys firmware image, here's how.
